The SSC in the Fruits and Vegetable Processing (F&VP) sector was formed through research of different businesses under the Agribusiness sector. These businesses showed interest in pursuing and contributing to the development of their sector by sharing their own acquired related skills, commitment, accountabilities, and agreed to responsibilities as a member of the council. The six SSC members are derived from the MSMEs in different regions of the country, in order to ensure a wide geographical representation. 

The F&VP SSC is funded by the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) through the Philippine Business for Education (PBED) and with secretariat support of the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI) through its Human Resources Development Foundation (HRDF), Inc.
